Understand Your Mind – Expert ADHD Assessments for Adults

Our private adult ADHD assessments are designed for individuals seeking a professional diagnosis without lengthy NHS delays. Carried out by qualified clinicians and based on NICE guidelines, our service is discreet, reliable, and tailored to your needs.

We understand that symptoms often go unnoticed or are mislabelled as anxiety, depression, or simply “being forgetful.” That's why we offer a thorough and compassionate process that looks at your full history, behavioural patterns, and how ADHD affects your personal and professional life.

Our Adult ADHD Assessment Process

We’ve simplified the assessment journey while maintaining clinical rigour and care. Here’s how our process works:

STEP 1: FREE SCREENING

Start with our free ADHD screening tool, which includes the ASRS-v1.1 (Adult Self-Report Scale)—a validated tool for recognising ADHD symptoms in adults. We also send a short questionnaire to better understand your concerns and life experiences.

Once submitted, we’ll score your responses and let you know whether a full assessment is recommended.

STEP 2: FULL ADHD ASSESSMENT

If a full evaluation is suitable, we’ll schedule a remote video session via Microsoft Teams (or a home visit for clients in Doncaster). The assessment lasts around 90 minutes and is conducted by a lead clinician with a secondary professional observing.

We use a structured approach involving tools such as the DIVA-5 and detailed developmental history to make a clear and accurate diagnosis.

STEP 3: OUTCOME REPORT & FOLLOW-UP

After your session, we prepare a comprehensive report—typically 11 to 13 pages—detailing the clinical findings, rationale for diagnosis (or non-diagnosis), and tailored recommendations.

You’ll also receive a free follow-up consultation to discuss the report and explore your next steps.

Recognising ADHD Symptoms in Adults

ADHD in adulthood often looks different from childhood. It may not involve hyperactivity but can still significantly affect your life. Common signs include:

  • Difficulty concentrating or completing tasks

  • Chronic disorganisation or poor time management

  • Impulsiveness (interrupting, rushing decisions)

  • Restlessness or constant mental activity

  • Mood swings or emotional sensitivity

  • Forgetfulness and frequent misplacing of items

  • Procrastination and inconsistent productivity

If these traits are affecting your work, relationships, or mental health, a professional ADHD assessment for adults can provide clarity and support.

Benefits of Early ADHD Diagnosis

Receiving a diagnosis later in life can be empowering. For many, it brings relief, validation, and a new perspective on past struggles.

Here’s what an adult ADHD diagnosis can offer:

  • Self-Awareness and Understanding: Learn how ADHD has shaped your behaviours and experiences.

  • Improved Mental Health: Reduce stress, anxiety, and frustration caused by undiagnosed symptoms.

  • Workplace Accommodations: Employers may offer support or adjustments based on your report.

  • Effective Coping Strategies: Learn how to manage challenges through structure, routine, and proven techniques.

  • Access to Additional Support: Use your report to pursue therapy, medication, or further professional help.

Our goal is to help you navigate these opportunities with practical guidance and compassionate care.
