First Medication titration Face to face
Initial titration appointment - Must be face to face
Service Description
Initial ADHD Medication Appointment – £150 This is a longer initial medication appointment for patients who are considering ADHD medication or who require review before medication can be safely started or continued under our service. Before this appointment, we will require a GP medical summary, which can usually be requested from your GP surgery free of charge. This helps us review relevant medical history, current diagnoses, allergies, previous or current medication, and any physical health factors that may affect prescribing. During the appointment, we will complete a clinical review to ensure it is safe and appropriate to prescribe ADHD medication. This may include: Reviewing your current or proposed ADHD medication, dosage, and timing. Monitoring ADHD symptom response, including attention, hyperactivity, impulsivity, and emotional regulation. Assessing for possible side effects, tolerability, and any concerns about medication suitability. Recording physical observations, including blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, and relevant physical health checks. Reviewing your medical history, co-existing conditions, allergies, cardiac history, mental health, and any current medication. Providing psychoeducation about ADHD medication, including expected benefits, possible side effects, safe use, and monitoring requirements. Discussing medication options and, where clinically appropriate, agreeing a titration plan in line with national guidance and safe prescribing practice. Agreeing a clear follow-up plan, including ongoing monitoring and communication with your wider healthcare team where required. The aim of medication titration is to identify the most effective medication and dose for the individual, balancing symptom improvement with minimal side effects. This is a collaborative process, with the patient actively involved in decision-making throughout. Once medication has been titrated and maintained at a stable therapeutic dose, we can support communication with the patient’s GP regarding possible shared care for ongoing prescribing and monitoring, where this is accepted by the GP practice.
